Job description/Responsibilities

Healthcare assistants are medical professionals who support nurses and doctors as they work to provide their patients with quality care. This role is a general one, which can involve assisting with many different tasks. For example, some healthcare assistants will focus on monitoring patients’ vital signs and preparing them to be seen by nurses and doctors. Others will spend more of their time scheduling patient appointments and updating records. Many healthcare assistants perform all of these tasks.

To be successful, healthcare assistants need to be capable of working well in a fast-paced healthcare setting. They should also be able to manage competing priorities while providing patients with warm, quality care.

  • Maintain inventory of medical supplies

  • Prepare patients to be seen by doctors and nurses

  • Ensure that rooms are ready to be used by doctors

  • Update patient records

  • Schedule, cancel, and modify appointments

  • Watch patients’ vital signs and alert doctors if they change significantly

  • Collect basic medical information from patients, including height and weight

  • Perform other tasks to support our staff as necessary

Skilled Nursing/LVN

Job descriptions

The primary task of Registered Nurses is to ensure that patients get adequate care and support and recover on time. Some of their main duties and responsibilities include:

  • Recording patients’ vital signs and medical information

  • Monitoring patients, record and reporting symptoms or changes in their conditions to provide the most suitable care and advice

  • Performing routine procedures such as administering non-intravenous medications, taking blood pressure measurements and completing patients’ charts

  • Administering medications to patients, monitoring them for potential reactions or side effects and reporting to the physician

  • Assisting Surgeons during operations and emergencies

  • Creating and maintaining accurate, comprehensive healthcare records and reports of patients

  • Working with physicians and other health professionals to create personalised treatment plans for patients

  • Training and supervising Nursing Assistants and Licensed Practical Nurses

Physical Therapist

Job descriptions

The day-to-day responsibilities of a Physical Therapist can vary from examining a patient’s condition and making a diagnosis to devising and executing a personalised treatment plan. Other important duties include:

  • Consulting with patients to learn more about their physical condition and symptoms

  • Planning, implementing and managing patients’ physical therapy programmes

  • Reviewing patients’ medical history and referrals or notes from Surgeons, Doctors and other healthcare workers

  • Administering medically prescribed physical therapy treatments to relieve pain and improve the patient’s mobility

  • Developing a personalised treatment plan for patients and outlining their goals and the expected outcomes of the plan

  • Recording and evaluating a patient’s progress, modifying their care plan and trying new treatments as needed

  • Advising patients and their families about in-home treatment options

  • Complying with government physiotherapy regulations

  • Visiting patients at their homes and at other facilities on a limited basis
